SCEDA 2010 General Rules

 

2010 SCEDA General Rules

Entry Fee

Electronics - $100 per event, plus track fee. 

No-E - $50 per event, plus track fee.

Stock / Super Stock Combo - $50 per event, plus track fee.

Junior Dragster - $45 per event, plus track fee. 

Junior Dragster limited pre-entered field.  Call SCEDA for space available entry at 888 488-RACE (7223)

 

Elapsed Time

Electronics - 6.00 to 13.99 

No-E - 7.50 to 21.99

Stock / Super Stock Combo – Must be NHRA Stock / Super Stock Legal

Junior Dragster 8 - 17 year old NHRA rules apply.

No altitude correction on any class!

 

Staging

Optional - No Courtesy Rule in effect

100% Starters Discretion

3 amber 5 tenths full tree (open top bulb - track permitting)

Electronics - Crosstalk if available.  Must have (N) after dial-in if doesn’t want crosstalk.  Participant responsible for crosstalk marking if used.  There will be a – on the score board in front of your dial to indicate no crosstalk.

No-E Sportsman (.500) or Pro (.400).  Must have a (P) if wants a .400 tree (pro).  Participant responsible for pro tree marking if used.  The (P) must be after the dial in, and there will be a – on the scoreboard in front of your dial.

 

Points

2010-year end points earned at all events.  No Throw outs this season.   

Should event be canceled for any reason SCEDA will do its best to get it re-scheduled.  Points earned at events participated in will apply to year end awards.

 

Teams

Must notify Race Director for approval prior to event.

2 drivers OK.

1 driver per event.

Does not apply to Junior Dragster.

 

NHRA Rules Apply

SCEDA rules supersede.

 

Vehicles

Dragsters, Roadsters, Alterds, Door cars, Motorcycles, Snowmobile, Junior Comp and Junior Dragsters.

All E and No-E vehicles must be self starters. (SCEDA has the right to make any discretionary exceptions to this rule).

Motorcycles may use starters.

 

Racing Format

E and No-E all classes random paired from pull of the card in front of staging prior to rounds of 16 cars or less.  From then on all racing will be on a ladder when possible, however should the need arise the following round and any sequential round thereafter could be the same format as round one.

Stock / Super Stock Combo every effort will be made to pair from best reaction time of time trials.  SCEDA reserves the right to modify Stock / Super Stock Combo ladder when necessary.  

Junior Dragster, every effort will be made to pair from best reaction time of time trials.  SCEDA reserves the right to modify Junior Dragster ladder when necessary.

 

SCEDA Awards

Participants must attend SCEDA Awards Banquet to receive any year end awards and bonus’s.

 

Payouts

All Payouts at Fontana are as follows.  Electronics minimum payout is $1,000.00 to win.  No-E and Stock / Super Stock Combo minimum payout is $500.00 to win.

Junior Dragster payout is $300.00 to win, $150.00 runner up and $50.00 to semis.  All Junior dragster payments are in the form of a U.S. Savings Bond.

Progressive Payouts in E, No-E and Stock / Super Stock Combo.  Payouts are based on car counts.  The more the cars the higher the payouts.

 

Electronics

 

SUPER PRO  (1/4 mile 6.00 – 13.99)

Computer:  Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment.  See NHRA general regulations 9:1.

Data Recorders: Permitted.  See NHRA general regulations 9:2 & 9.2A.

Delay Boxes: Permitted.  One box/device only attached to transbrake and/or throttle timer only.  Delay box may only display delay amount.  All direct wiring must be clearly identifiable to the tech inspector.

Transbrake:  Permitted.

Line lock: Two or four-wheel line lock permitted.

Automated Shifter: Permitted.

Throttle Control: Permitted per NHRA rulebook.

Ignition:  Stutter boxes prohibited.  Starting line and or ‘high side’ rev limiters permitted.  Three steps, two-steps, rev-limiters, or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller, prohibited.

Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type.  Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprint, light source or any other non-mechanical type switch and/or button prohibited.

Tow vehicles: Permitted.

All vehicles must conform to 11.49 and quicker safety rules, per section 5A of 2010 NHRA Rulebook.  Any vehicle running 7.49 and quicker must conform to Advanced ET rules, per section 5B of 2010 NHRA Rulebook

 

No-E

 

No-E PRO (7.50 to 21.99) (1/8 mile 7.00 – 13.99)

Computer:  Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment.  See NHRA general regulations 9:1

Data Recorders: Prohibited.  See NHRA general regulations 9:2 & 9:2A.

Delay Boxes: Prohibited

Transbrake:  Permitted.

Line lock: Two or four-wheel line lock permitted.

Automated Shifter: Permitted, single function controller only.

Throttle Control: Throttle must be manually operated by the driver’s foot.  Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation.  A dead stop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted.  Throttle timers, counters prohibited.  No over-ride or throttle stop devices allowed.

Ignition:  Stutter boxes prohibited.  Starting line and/or ‘high side’ rev limiters permitted.  Two steps, rev limiters, or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller, prohibited.

Stock / Super Stock Combo

All vehicles participating in Stock / Super Stock Combo must be NHRA legal.

 

Arias Pistons Dial Rite

Electronics, No-Electronics, Stock / Super Stock Combo, and Junior Dragster:  The dial rite is based on the last time trial.  The cost is $10.00 to enter.  Participants estimate their predicted dial and the participant closest to the dial is the winner and received 100% of the dial rite purse.   In case of a tie the tie breaker is best reaction time.  Second tie breaker is most amount of events attended.  Third tie breaker is first one to do it.

 

Final

SCEDA and Track official reserves the right to all final decisions.  Any final decisions will stand as is!
